OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! All of the youth went to the lake today!!!
I'm gonna start at the beginning---
Well, last night I set my alarm clock to 7:30 (we had to be at the Strattons' house at 9). So I went to bed thinking that I had plenty of time, and I had nothing to worry about. The next thing I know, my mom is waking me up. I was thinking, "Stupid alarm clock didn't wake me up!" Then I looked at it, and it said 7:15. I was confused...not a good thing when you're exhausted. (We stayed up pretty late yesterday) Anyway, I got ready and everything, still trying to figure out why my mom was so rushed. Well, I said, "Hey, mom, why are we in such a hurry?" She said, "We have to leave at 8:45!" So I said, "Well mom, it's only like 7:30." I asked her why we were up an hour early, and she said that my dad read the clock wrong, he said it was 8:15. Then Sister Hienig called and said that she would pick Riley and me up. My mom pretty much got us up for nothing. =/
On the way to the Strattons' house, nothing happened. We waited for everyone to come, then we said a prayer, and we were gone.
On the way to the lake, almost all of the young women piled into BROTHER Bingham's car. Poor Brother Bingham. Every time the young women go somewhere, we always end up in his car! I hope he doesn't mind....
When we finally got there, at around 10:00, we unloaded, put our stuff down, and pretty much dove into the lake. It was FREEEZING!! But, we all got used to it, and hung out, and had a great time. I was finally done, and I swam back and helped watch the CUTEST little girls EVER!! They were really fun.
When I looked around, I didn't see anyone from our group, except the little kids who came along with their parents. After a while, I found a leader and asked where everyone was. They said that they were getting the boat, and that they were about to go tubing, and jet-skiing. I was so excited!!
TUBING
Me, and my friend Marisa wanted to go tubing really bad. So we found out where the boat was, and we jumped on, and couldn't wait to go!! (We felt a little bad after we got on because we didn't wash our feet off, and it was a white boat...oops...but Brother Hienig said, "Oh, that's okay, that's what water's for!" When we finally got where we were able to go really fast, Marisa and I got on. She was a little nervous because she had never done it before, and I would be, too, because it didn't look very safe...hee hee hee. Once we were ready, I gave them a thumbs up, and we started to go. Marisa wasn't very patient, and she was saying, "Why isn't this going fast? When will we go fast?" I just told her to hold on and to be ready to scream. It only took a couple of seconds, and we were off. We were flying against the waves, and doing lots of turns and stuff. When we did a really sharp turn, Marisa accedentally leaned the wrong way, (toward me) and I flew off. For a second, I held onto the rope and just let the boat drag me because the water felt really good, but then I just let go. I got back on, but this time we forgot to lean back, and the tube kinda dove straight down into the water, and me and Marisa both fell off...oopsies! We got one more ride, and we didn't fall...but this one was hard. There were huge waves, and we felt like skipping stones! When Marisa finally yelled stop (for no reason, I don't know why she did,) anyway, she yelled stop, and our ride was over. Darn. When we got back on the boat, we found out that Brother Hienig was trying to throw us off, but we held on. (Grr Brother Hienig...we'll get you!! =D j/k) And that's about it for tubing...Marisa and me wanted to go again, but the boat kept leaving before we could get to it...darn again!!
JET-SKI!!!
Marisa (of course) and me went jet-skiing with Sister Hienig...it wasn't as fun as tubing, but I've never been on a jet-ski, so it was pretty cool. It took us forever to find the life jackets...we were about to leave and the boat was taking one last ride...and of course all of the life jackets have to be on the boat! So we all ran bare-footed to the dock (It was really rocky on the way there and none of us had shoes...unless you count Sister Hienig's mis-matched flip-flops...lol. But when we finally caught the boat, they didn't have any extras, and they said that there was another one back where we were. Great. So we walked all the way back...ouch. We got back, got on the jet-ski, and we were gone. Marisa and me were kind of nervous because we had seen Brother Wicksom drive the jet-ski and tip...a lot. (One of the times, Riley was riding with him, Brother Wicksom turned too sharp, and Riley and him both fell off...with Brother Wicksom taking part of the jet-ski with him...oops!!) Anyway, Sister Hienig said that she was a good driver and that she hadn't tipped the whole day. We trusted her, and we of course didn't tip. I LOVED IT!!! It was like riding on a motor cycle and a boat at the same time!! There was only one time that I almost fell, but that was because the seat was slippery, and we were bouncing on the waves...I'm glad I didn't.
Well, my sister Sarah is bugging me to do something with her, and I have to get ready for GIRLS CAMP!! WOOOHOO!! IT'S TOMORROW!!
I'll write about girls camp on Sunday!!!
